The System Fabric™ (T.S.F)

This term covers a group of different technical fabrics that function together according to the 3-layer principle.

On this site you will become familiar with several types of The Fabric System™. Please notice which clothing layer the specific fabric is intended for.

The idea behind the pictographs is to give you an easily accessible overview over the main functions, their relative sizes and how they interact.

In the case of e.g. waterproof products, it is relevant to get additional info on breathe ability etc.

T.S.F.™ Classic Wet Type™

Is an excellent membrane for 3-layer protection against wind and weather. The membrane is made of Polyurethane and is equipped with millions of microscopic pores that allow water vapour to pass through and block water in liquid form from entering. In practice this means that excess body moisture can pass through the membrane while e.g. rain cannot enter. This results in an increased feeling of comfort.

The membrane is attached to the back of strong Nylon, Taslan weave. This type of nylon can withstand much wear and tear and is ideal for many outdoor activities.
ISO 0811 waterproofness: 3500 mm (in comparison a heavy driving rain is about 1000mm).

The breathabilty is 4000 gm. pr. day, which is sufficient for most activities with the exception of the most physically demanding ones. This data has been confirmed by an impartial technical institute.

Water column pressure:

The choice of T.S.F™ is apparent from the two curves’ development over time. Geoff Anderson® relies on long durability with stable data (nearly horizontal curve).
Where the two curves meet, and from then on, T.S.F™ is superior to laminated membranes.
