Product type and use
WS Basis a short to medium-length waterproof and breathable fishing jacket. 
Excellent for wading, with fly and/or spin.
WS Basis is also suitable for boat fishing where the high waist-cut makes it particularly comfortable.

Why the name WS Basis
WS is short for “Water Shield” 
Your shield against the elements from deep rivers to open seas.

Basis is created to welcome more anglers into the Geoff Anderson Water Shield family. Basis proof that real performance doesn’t have to come with a premium price tag. A jacket born from the same rugged spirit as our high end models, yet made surprisingly attainable. It carries the trusted WS DNA of durability, waterproof protection, and dependability known since the first WS jackets was manufactured and sold in 1998.

1. Easy to access and close with one hand.
Watertight if closed securely and not submerged. Due to the low position of drains we do not recommend considering the pocket as waterproof storage.

2. Napoleon pocket
Placed high between the center front overfold and the lining. 
Waterproof pocket lining. Probably the most waterproof of the pockets.
Waterproof means that this pocket does not drain - this also applies to possible condensation. Therefore store e.g. electronics in suitable cases.

3. Elasticated inner pocket
Ideal for storing your hood or the like. Open top. Expandable.

4. & 5. Front chest pockets
Easy to access. Expandable. Effectively repels rain, snow and wave splashes. 
Watertight if not submerged* Drains quickly. Top loading with Velcro® closure.
 
Fabric
The Taslan polyamide shell fabric is the same proven material kind we have trusted for more than 25 years - technically improved over the years . Combined with our System Fabric membrane, the jacket remains 100% waterproof.
HSW <10.000mm and breathable.

A word from the designer
WS Basis is the newest and most accessible member of the WS family. It has been developed as an entry-level jacket. Basis is price-friendly and straightforward - yet it still
carries the same DNA of strength, waterproofness, and reliability that defines all WS jackets.

So how do we keep it simple and accessible
By reducing seamstress hours and keeping the construction clean and uncomplicated.
By limiting extra details and “bells and whistles,” while still ensuring the jacket is strong, functional, and durable.
The result is a jacket that feels light, reliable, and versatile - perfect for those who want trusted WS quality in a more straightforward package.

WS Basis definition
Naturally, with simplicity comes a small compromise.
WS Basis does not feature the same level of detailing or storage capacity as the more advanced models. Instead, it focuses on what matters most - keeping you dry, comfortable, and unrestricted.
